5, 4, 3, 2, 1 … BLAST OFF!
The brand spanking new Cracking Ideas competition has just launched!
Hot on the heels of the recent Wallace & Gromit innovation for sport competition comes the Cracking Ideas brand new challenge for 2012 – 2013 based around one of the creative duo’s favourite subjects … SPACE.
This year the Intellectual Property Office has teamed up with Liverpool’s supersonic visitor attraction Spaceport to bring a bespoke schools workshop all about the space age science and intellectual property. Children and educators have the opportunity to find out more about how patents, trade marks, copyright and design have a part to play in everyday life and how this ties in with 21st Century space-age technology. You’ll also have the opportunity to express your creativity and develop your innovative ideas by entering the new competition through completing your very own Cracking Ideas Moon Bug.
Entry to the competition, however, is not dependant on a visit to Spaceport … In fact we want as many 4 – 16 year olds as possible throughout England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales to participate. To facilitate this and encourage lots of innovative creating and making we have developed a very special Cracking Ideas Moon Bug pack which can be downloaded here or is available as a hard copy from Cracking Ideas Competition, Intellectual Property Office, FREEPOST CF4185, Newport, NP20 1ZZ and ideas@crackingideas.com
Whether you’re into rocket launching science, lunar landscape art, deep space design or galactic gizmo technology this year’s Cracking Ideas space competition is right up your street! We need those supersonic, space age Cracking Ideas rocketing their way to us. So go on get cracking!
Ready, steady … Blast off!
