Cracking Ideas Competition 2009
What should Wallace & Gromit's next home business venture be?
Following hot on the heels on the innovative duo's bakery success in 'A Matter of Loaf and Death', what do you think Wallace & Gromit should do next? Once you have decided, think about how intellectual property (patents, trade marks, designs and copyright) can help Wallace & Gromit to protect their creativity and make sure they gain value from it. Patents protect new inventions or gadgets, trade marks protect brand names, designs protect the way a product looks and copyright protects the creativity behind the idea (for example websites, advertisements, music or photographs).
The Cracking Ideas competition is open to all 4 to 16 year olds in schools, in clubs, or entering individually at home in the UK. The competition is split into three age categories (4 - 7, 8 - 11 and 12 - 16). The competition is regional (England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland). Five shortlisted winners will be identified from each region for each age category. From this the regional winner for each age category will be identified.
The overall winner for each age category will be identified from the four regional winners. There are some cracking prizes up for grabs, including a sketch signed by Nick Park, a laptop and a bespoke trophy created by Aardman.
